Facilities available at McFarland State Historic Park.

Visitor Center Museum Visitor Center & Museum

McFarland State Historic Park has re-opened as a park and Visitor Center, and is operated by the Florence Main Street Program External Link and the City of Florence External Link. The park is open Monday through Saturday from 9 am to 5 pm; and is closed on Sunday. The Visitor Center offers free information on local and regional attractions and is developing exhibits for the park.

Exhibits Exhibits

Since construction has completed, new exhibits are in the planning stages.

The adobe building houses the 1878 Territorial Pinal County Courtroom as a period room with the Judge’s Office & Chambers period room.

Future Exhibits currently planned are: Florence World War II Prisoner of War Camp exhibit, restoring the Sheriff's office to circa 1882, rebuilding the jail cells, and returning the courtroom to its 1878 appearence. Other displays will cover territorial lawmen and their various duties, the history of the area going back to prehistoric times to the present, and local Florence history during the 19th and early 20th centuries.

Group Day Use Areas Group: Day Use Areas

Courtroom: 8 benches that each seat 4 people, plus 16 chairs. Restrictions: Care must be taken with the wooden floors. Group-Use Fees: Determined on case by case basis. Call the park for more information.

There are two picnic tables and a grill located under shade trees.
